MBA Programme
The two year full-time MBA Programme with 60 intake capacity of the
institute has been duly approved by All India Council for Technical
Education (AICTE), affiliated to Biju patnaik University of Technology (BPUT),
Orissa and recognized by Department of Higher Education, Government of
Orissa
Scope The
institute is committed to offer maximum learning advantages to the
students through the well-structured programme. The MICM is well
equipped with infrastructural facilities to groom competent Managers for
both the Cooperative and corporate sectors. The MBA degree offers
advanced level of learning both in theory and application in business
management along with specialized learning in some selected functional
areas. Depending on the areas of specialization students on successful
completion of the programme are expected to work as a competent business
manager.
Eligibility
A Bachelor’s degree of
three-year duration in any discipline of a recognized University or as
decided by AICTE from time to time.
As per the present practice the eligible candidates are
required to appear for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) conducted by
Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), Rourkela, Orissa normally
during the month of April to May every year.
Candidates (JEE Rank holders) are required to attend the
counseling conducted by BPUT as per their scheduled date and venue
which is decided by BPUT authorities. The candidates opting for MICM for
persuasion of their studies during counseling are required to deposit
the required fee as decided by BPUT. As per the current practice BPUT
will provide the registration card to the candidates at the counseling
center. After this the selected candidates are required to contact the
MICM authority for admission into the course. Subsequently the
candidates are required to obtain an admission form by paying Rs.300/-
at the institute’s counter. The filled in application form along with
the required course fee as decided by the institute should be submitted
at the institute on the date of admission as declared by the institute.
The course fee structure is

The total fee payable by a
student for 2 years MBA is given as under. Non-payment of fees beyond
the stipulated date will invite fine/discontinuance as decided by the
authority from time to time.

of “Principal Madhusudan Institute of Cooperative Management” payable at

At the time of admission, the attested
photocopies of following documents have to be submitted to the
Institute.

The Institute follows the prescribed
curriculum, calendar, course structure/syllabus and academic regulations
of BPUT for the 2 year (full-time) MBA programme under the Trimester
System. Each year shall be spread over to three trimesters. All together
there are six trimesters in the 2 years duration of the programme. In
the first year the students are exposed to the concept of management, in
the second year, they specialize to develop their skills in the areas of
their interest / choice.
The details of the curriculum, calendar,
course structure/syllabus and academic regulations, eligibility and
other criteria for examination etc .of BPUT for the 2 year (full-time)
MBA and details of Specializations Offered by the University will be
provided to the students by the University after admission or else also
available in the website of BPUT i.e. www. bput.org The
placement committee is chaired by the principal who plans and
coordinates the entire placement activities. The
placement officer as member convener identifies visits of
various organization and agencies for exploring the
opportunities of employment and training
PLACEMENT PROCEDURE To
recruit management students of the MBA programme, the organizations are requested to contact the Institute
mentioning the nature of the requirement/selection procedure

A candidate at the end of the first year will have to undergo summer
training in any organization with the approval of the authority of the
Institute for a period of 6 to 8 weeks. This provides an opportunity to
the candidate to relate the classroom learning to work situation. On
completion of the summer project, the candidate shall submit a report
along with a completion certificate from the organization. The
candidate is also required to appear in a viva-voce of the same and
after evaluation of the summer project, the candidate may be promoted to
the final year.
Hostel
MICM
provides well-furnished separate residential accommodation is available
for both boys and girls in the institute’s Hostel. All the rooms are
double bedded with a common dinning hall and T.V. lounge. The students
residing in the hostel will be required to strictly abide by the hostel
rules and regulations as laid down from time to time. Seats in the
hostel will be allotted as per merit-cum-distance basis. The hostel
Rent per student is Rs.5400/- per annum excluding Rs.1000/- as
refundable caution money.

The Institute provides timely medical facility to
the students. The physician visits the Institute weekly twice and the
students may avail the medical facility.

The Institute provides ample opportunity for

debating competitions are also being organized at
University/State/National levels. The Institute has also facilities for

routine course curriculum, the institute conducts various programmes for
the personality development of the students viz. Group discussion (G.D.),
